Tennis Courts - Additional Features

Future enhancements of bleachers, restrooms, and concessions are still a work in progress.
COMPLETED PROJECTS

Wildwood Disc Golf Course
​​​
This was our fist major project completed in October of 2020. This project included updated signage, updated and extended t-pads, updated course design, and wood bridges in the creek areas were also updated.

Tree Nurseries
​​​
In November of 2021 we completed 2 tree nurseries with one being located at Liberty Elementary School and the second tree nursery at James Elementary School. The students helped us plant 175 trees and 25 more trees will be planted in the spring of 2022. These nurseries will help provide mature trees to plant in Ottumwa's Parks along with being a great educational opportunity for the students at both schools.

Memorial Park Mountain Bike Trail

A bike washing station along with updated signage was installed in the summer of 2021.

Pickleball Courts
​
In September 2022 we completed the Pickleball courts at Bell Park and Memorial Park.

Liberty Elementary School Tree Nursery
​
36 new trees were planted to replace the ones that didn't survive the winter. We had 3 adult volunteers and a group of young leaders from Liberty Elementary School

Memorial Park Disc Golf Updates

T-Pad work at Memorial Park. A big THANKS to Josh Meyers, Kevin Williams, and Bob Kramer for their hard work to get these completed!

New Tennis Courts
​
​The Dan Staggs Family Tennis Courts are a state-of-the-art complex featuring eight courts, developed by the Ottumwa Community School District, the City of Ottumwa, and Friends of Ottumwa's Parks. The courts are now finished and open for use. Once the project is fully complete, it will also include bleachers and viewing areas, along with restrooms and concessions.

Ottumwa Park New Playground Equipment
​The playground was secured through a $30,000 Bright Ideas grant from the Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation, as Friends of Ottumwa's Parks completed the application for the grant
